Positive Visit to Imola for Camier

Sunday, 1 May 2016 15:45 GMT

Leon Camier rode his MV Agusta F4RC into the top five at Imola in Race 2

Camier’s Italian team, led by Team Manager Andrea Quadranti, worked hard on bike settings over the weekend and achieved another strong result at the challenging Imola track.

Starting from seventh on the grid Camier was able to improve on his Saturday race result of sixth, going one better on Sunday, to maintain his positive form.

“Really, really happy to be honest,” said the Englishman on Sunday afternoon. “The start wasn’t so good, I got caught behind the BMW and some other riders and was quite difficult to pass, so as soon as I could I passed them. Unfortunately (Davide) Giugliano was too far from me. I am very happy with the feeling with the bike and with the changes we made between Race 1 and 2. Big thanks to everyone in the team for the awesome job.”

After five rounds Camier is currently ninth in the overall standings and he will aim to consolidate his championship position at the next world WorldSBK round in Malaysia.
