Federico Caricasulo will sport a black and white Ducati for 2022

With the 2022 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship getting closer by the day, teams up and down the paddock are readying for the new season and unveiling their liveries. In World Supersport, that was done over the weekend for the returning Althea Racing outfit. Genesio Bevilacqua’s team, one of the most iconic in the WorldSBK paddock.

A resplendent white and black livery will be used by Federico Caricasulo as the Italian readies to mount the Ducati Panigale V-Twin, with Ducati’s return to World Supersport action one of the biggest headlines this season. The launch of the return of Althea Racing took place at the Moto dei Miti museum in Civita Castellana, the town of which Althea are based. With the return to World Supersport, the team will contest their first race in the class since 2009.

Speaking at the launch, Caricasulo is excited to get underway: “I was immediately happy to race with Althea Racing, a team rich in experience and with an incredible history. I confirmed the first impressions of the bike and of the team and I must say that the first tests we've made have further convinced me that I have made the right choice. The bike is beautiful, and I already feel at home. I hope to be able to make Genesio Bevilacqua and the boys proud of me."

Bevilacqua himself is also eager to get back in action: “We came back for the pleasure of doing it and the desire to test ourselves without any filter, after two years in which we stopped due to the pandemic and because of a motorcycling in which we no longer recognized ourselves 100%. The guys asked me for a challenge and this Supersport is the right category to test ourselves, in the way we like best: that of experience and personal skills rather than technology and unlimited means. The stock motorcycle racing focus is on Supersport, and we want to immediately be protagonists of this new ‘next generation’ formula, with the lightness, but also with the seriousness that has always distinguished us. We have chosen the right challenge, the rider and the right partners and we are sure that we will be able to bring the Althea Racing DNA back to the track."
