Czech rider teams up with Badovini in 2017

Ondrej Jezek will partner Ayrton Badovini at Grillini Racing Team in the 2017 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship. The Czech native is set to make his debut in the premier class of the Championship after racing in the STK1000 category for a number of years and competing in WorldSSP this past season.

"I am very happy with my choice," said Andrea Grillini, Team Owner. “ I believe Ondrej has a strong desire to do well and he is a talented rider. He has a great determination and enthusiasm for this new adventure."

The Czech rider who achieved solid results in both categories reveals he is on track to achieving his goals by competing in WorldSBK. The 27 year old won’t have to wait long to try out his new Kawasaki, as testing gets underway in Jerez at the end of November.

"I am very thankful and excited for the opportunity that Andrea Grillini has given me,” said Jezek. “After many years in the Superstock 1000 category, during which I have achieved significant results, I felt it was time to move up. This year I competed in World Supersport to gain more experience, but my main goal has always been to race in World Superbikes. The 1000cc is best suited to my riding style and I can’t wait to try the Kawasaki in Spain for the first tests. I'm sure we will do well next year."

Grillini Racing Team will have their first opportunity to work together as a team on the 21st and 22nd of November in testing at Jerez, before the 2017 season opener at Phillip Island in February.
