WorldSSP contract includes option for WorldSBK in 2017.

Czech rider Ondrej Jezek has signed up with Team Go Eleven for the 2016 season of the FIM Supersport World Championship, riding a Kawasaki ZX-6R.

Following six seasons in the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup in which he was a race winner in 2014 before finishing in the overall top five of 2015, Jezek now moves to WorldSSP.

Next season will mark Jezek’s second full campaign in WorldSSP, having contested 2011 on a Honda with SMS Racing prior to a single race at the start of 2012.

At the Denis Sacchetti-run Team Go Eleven, Jezek replaces Dominic Schmitter to become team-mate to Italian rider Christian Gamarino. Jezek’s contract also includes an option to compete in the FIM Superbike World Championship class for 2017.

Ondrej Jezek: "I am very happy to join Team Go Eleven for next year. We’ve been in contact since the last Superstock race at Magny-Cours and I have accepted the offer to go to WorldSSP, with an option for WorldSBK for 2017. I want to thank Gianni Ramello (team owner) and Denis Sacchetti (Team Manager) for this opportunity and also to my main sponsor Fany Gastroservis for the long-term support. We have a difficult season in front of us, as the competition in WorldSSP will be very tough. I believe our partnership will be successful and we’ll be fighting at the front of the field."

Denis Sacchetti, Team Manager of Team Go Eleven: "I’m happy to work with Ondrej because I respect him a lot and because he is a very strong rider. When we were children, I raced against him in the European Championship on minimotos - I have great memories of that! In STK1000 he showed us his great ability and his results prove it, placing him among the strongest drivers of that category. Now he will face a major challenge and that is the Supersport World Championship, a very difficult class. The riders are very experienced and some are even multiple World Champions, but I am sure that Ondrej – with his professionalism – will not take long to be fighting at the front. During the EICMA motorcycle show last week, I had the chance to see all our riders working together for the first time: Roman (Ramos, WorldSBK), Christian and Ondrej. So, I have to admit that in 2016 we have a real dream team!"
