Chaz Davies was left frustrated to have lost one and a half of two potentially full days of testing in Aragon this week due to poor weather conditions, but nonetheless declared himself pleased with the progress made with the Ducati Panigale R.

Echoing the sentiments of others at MotorLand, a frustrated Davies was forced to sit out most of Monday and much of Tuesday due to the fog and low track temperatures at the undulating venue. Despite this, he was able to submit a total of 71 laps over the two days.

“This test has been useful despite the weather, which caused us to lose most of Day 1 and almost half of Day 2,” the Welshman explained. “Despite this, we’ve been able to test a lot of the new components with mainly positive results. So I’m pleased, although we haven’t had time to 100% perfect all of the aspects. I wanted to make one final exit to really push hard, but the weather put a stop to that too. I’m feeling confident and now we’ll focus on the next tests in Jerez, spurred on by the positive results seen here.”

The Aruba.it-Racing Ducati SBK Team will be back in action at Jerez de la Frontera next week, taking to the track for three days between Wednesday and Friday.
