Camier highly encouraged by MV progress

Two top ten finishes with updated electronics.

Having run a completely updated electronics package from Magneti Marelli in Aragon a week earlier, Leon Camier and MV Agusta Reparto Corse made clear progress at Assen last weekend. The British rider finished tenth in both races.

“Everyone is really happy,” Camier said in a video interview with WorldSBK.com, particularly pleased with improvement in engine braking. “We know we have made quite a bit of progress already. In the second race especially, I felt like I made a good start, made some really big passes early on and felt like I was riding really well. The chassis was working well and I was really happy with the way things were working.

“This weekend we have changed the electronics massively. I now feel we are starting to get on top of things and it was working a lot more like I want. Now we need to work a lot with the engine and also chassis, for qualifying; to get more out of the qualifying tyre, we will change the chassis a bit. As soon as we get more power, it is going to hurt the chassis again, and then we need to change the electronics. So it all takes time, but it’s encouraging and I’m really happy with the way things went.”

The next two race meetings are important for MV Agusta and Camier in that they are respective home events, first for the team and then for the rider.
