STATS ROUND-UP: Bulega sets new win-streak record as he draws level with Edwards and Razgatlioglu for consecutive podiums
The #11 continued his unbeaten start to the season as he wrote more WorldSBK history at Balaton Park
More MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship records were broken at the Balaton Park Circuit by Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) as the #11 extended his winning run to 16 races. The Championship leader has had a perfect start to the 2026 campaign and that continued in style at the Motul Hungarian Round. Check out some of the big stats to emerge from Round 4 of the 2026 season.
110 – Miguel Oliveira (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) took P3 in Race 1 for his fourth podium, while it was BMW’s 110th race with a rostrum finish.
82 – Bulega’s 82-point lead after 12 races is the biggest since 2015, when Jonathan Rea led Leon Haslam by 101 points.
32 – Bulega has 32 wins in his WorldSBK career, putting him level with Chaz Davies in ninth place in the all-time list.
25 – ‘Bulegas’ has equalled the record for consecutive podiums, with 25. This puts him level with Colin Edwards (set in 2002, when he finished all but one race on the rostrum) and Toprak Razgatlioglu (set in 2025).
14-15-16 – Bulega claimed his 14th, 15th and 16th consecutive victories at Balaton Park, each one setting a new record for successive victories.
12-14 – The #11 has also won 12 races to start the 2026 campaign, the best start to a single season. The previous record was held by Alvaro Bautista (Barni Spark Racing Team), who won the first 11 in 2019. In 2025, Bulega won 14 races across the whole season.
11 – Iker Lecuona (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) has 11 WorldSBK rostrums to his name without a win, the third-highest value. If he finishes on the podium once more before he wins, he’ll tie Gregorio Lavilla with 12 podiums without winning. The record is 14, held by Davide Giugliano.
9 – Lecuona’s P2 finish in Race 2 was his ninth in a row. If he finishes P2 in Race 1 at Most, he will tie the all-time record for consecutive second place finishes, going level with Rea (2019).
6 – Alberto Surra (Motocorsa Racing) had his best WorldSBK weekend so far, claiming his best career result with sixth in the Superpole Race and finishing all three races in the top eight.
5-4 – Bulega is on a streak of five consecutive pole positions, dating back to Jerez last year, equalling the fifth-longest streak set by Carl Fogarty in 1993. He’s also started 2026 with four straight poles, the first rider to do so for Ducati and the first rider since Rea in 2021.
5 – Garrett Gerloff (Kawasaki WorldSBK Team) claimed P5 in Race 2, his first top-five finish since Aragon 2024.
2 – With P3 finishes in the Superpole Race and Race 2 respectively, Lorenzo Baldassarri (Team GoEleven) and Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team) took their second WorldSBK rostrums.
