Dominant pole for Di Persio in Hungary
Italian rider Di Persio had a huge margin over his rivals as he claimed pole in Hungary
FIM Yamaha R3 BLU CRU World Cup series leader Alessandro Di Persio fired a warning shot to rivals on the opening day at Hungary’s Balaton Park to take pole position by an impressive 0.820 seconds.
Di Persio (Italy), who has won three out of the last four races to stretch out a championship lead of 27 points, set a time of 1’58.122s as the R3 Cup grid spent the day learning the new WorldSBK venue in stunning summer conditions.
Emanuele Pastore made it an Italian 1-2 on the grid, securing his best starting position of the season with second while winner last time out at Donington Park, Teppei Kugawa (Japan) completes the front row.
Arai Agaska (Indonesia), who topped the morning’s Free Practice session will start fourth, ahead of Dawid Nowak of Poland, also enjoying his strongest qualifying of the 2025 season to date.
Kakeru Okunuki (Japan) will line up sixth, ahead of second-in-the-standings Chris Clark (USA) and Xarly Mendez De Oleo (Dominican Republic). Mario Salles (Brazil) lines up ninth with Maksymilian Palmowski (Poland) completing the top ten.

I am enjoying the track, it is quite fun to ride on the R3 and to take my second pole of the season is good for me.
