Althea BMW Racing Team ready for the French fight

Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours will host Round 11 of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship this weekend, and Althea BMW Racing Team-mates Jordi Torres and Raffaele De Rosa are keen to get the action underway.

Following two top six finishes last time out in Portugal, Spanish rider Torres had a positive day at the post race test despite a small crash at turn nine. Hoping to bring forward some data himself and his team were able to collect, the 30 year old tends to struggle around the technical 4.41km circuit but is taking a positive outlook. With a mixed bag of results so far in France, Torres will take head into this weekend keen to fight.

"In recent years the Magny-Cours round has never been an easy one for me,” begins Torres. “But I am hopeful that we will be able to continue to do well after the recent positive results of Portimao. First we’ll have to see what the weather brings, and then the team and I will do our best to adapt to the circumstances as we work to try and achieve the best possible results.”

Italian team-mate Raffaele De Rosa is looking to improve on his pace this season, as he has struggled to come to grips with the BMW S 1000 RR. Noting that the weather tends to play a big part in the Pirelli French Round, he is looking forward to taking on a circuit he enjoys.

De Rosa explains: “The weather is always fundamental at Magny-Cours, a track where we’ve had flag to flag races in the past and where we need to be ready for anything in terms of the conditions, always so variable. I think that, as a track, it’s a better one for our bike than Portimao. It’s also a track that I enjoy, so I can’t wait to get started.”
