Spanish rider set to ride in red in 2018

With the final parts of the 2018 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship jigsaw falling into place, it has been announced Jordi Torres will ride for MV Agusta Reparto Corse next season as he makes the step away from his Althea BMW Racing Team squad.

Heading into his fourth season in the WorldSBK paddock, the Spanish rider has one victory and four podium finishes to his name, but has struggled to make the step up to the podium in 2016. With a new challenge ahead of him, he looks forward to take on the F4 RC machine as he sets his sights on the upcoming tests.

Torres explains his delight at the news: “I'm really excited to start this new season with Team MV Agusta Reparto Corse. Over these recent seasons I have been able to evaluate the excellent rise of the F4 RC and I am sure we will be able to take some very positive results in 2018. Thanks to Andrea Quadranti, Giovanni Castiglioni and MV Agusta for believing in me and my potential; I really look forward to riding this bike during the next tests.”

On a similar note, the team are also thrilled to announce their new signing for the season, as Andrea Quadranti, Team Principal adds: “We are really glad to have signed this contract with Jordi, its strength and its talent make him the best choice to continue the development on our F4 RC and to consistently claim important results. We definitely look forward to seeing Jordi on our bike for the winter test. I would also like to extend my personal thanks to Leon Camier, who will leave us at the end of the season for a new professional adventure.”
