CIA Landlord Insurance Honda duo tests at Lausitzring

Of the several FIM Supersport World Championship riders to have tested at the Lausitzring this week, two were from the PTR-run CIA Landlord Insurance Honda team. Japan’s Hikari Okubo and Sweden’s Christoffer Bergman were on-hand to put in the laps and learn the circuit ahead of the Pirelli German Round next month.

Weather conditions were good across Wednesday and Thursday, when the test took place, with – like World Superbike – the World Supersport riders being able to enjoy four 40-minute sessions at the Brandenburg State venue.

Simon Buckmaster, Team Manager of CIA Landlord Insurance Honda:
“It was a really positive test for both Hikari and Christoffer and we have gained valuable information and data which will benefit all our riders for the race in September.”

Hikari Okubo:
“It was a good test and we were able to try many things to see what is good and bad. We have a lot of data and I am confident I can be on the pace here for the race.”

Christoffer Bergman:
“It is my first time here at the Lausitzring and I had learned the track after the second session. I didn’t seem to be far off the top riders here and I am hopeful to be in the top ten in the race.”

CIA Landlord Insurance Honda has already tasted victory this year, having won with Kyle Smith the fourth race of the season at Assen. Round 10 in Germany will take place across the weekend of 16-18 September.
