Team Toth looking for more points before the end of the year

Imre Toth will be back in action at Jerez.

During the winter break between the 2013 and 2014 seasons, Team Toth decided to raise the bar even higher by moving up to the eni FIM Superbike World Championship to race in both SBK and SBK EVO classes on BMW machinery.

The experienced Imre Toth Jr. tested a BMW Superbike two years ago, and probably that was the first sign about a possible step up to the SBK category. The team hired a very young, talented second rider Peter Sebestyen with experience in lower categories.

Without a single lap of testing, the team debuted on a high note as Imre Toth was able to take part in first Tissot-Superpole at Phillip Island.
Imre Toth Jr. has been a regular top-20 finisher so far, while his teammate Peter Sebestyen had to deal with injuries as well as lack of track knowledge but was able to steadily improve his performance. The team reached its peak of the year so far at the Malaysian round, where Imre Toth Jr. gave the team its first points in the series by finishing 14th in race 1.

After the Malaysian round, the team made the decision to race with MoTeC electronics from the Misano weekend. Sadly, Imre Toth Jr. had only three sessions with the new package, before breaking his right collarbone and ankle in a spectacular high-side crash.

As these injuries ruled him out of the following six races, the team hired a well experienced replacement rider. With World Championship experience in the former 250cc MotoGP™ category, AMA Superbike and German Superbike (IDM) Gabor Rizmayer filled in for the injured Toth Jr at Portimao and Laguna Seca.

Rizmayer well represented the team by finishing in the top-20 twice at Portimao and almost making it into the Tissot-Superpole at Laguna Seca. His best result was a 15th, meaning one point under his belt in the hectic second race at Monterey.

Imre Toth Jr. made a full and fast recovery from his injuries and he cannot wait to return to the team at Jerez in September, hoping to score some more Championship points in each of the remaining races.
