The American rider over the moon for his maiden WSS podium.

Patrick “PJ” Jacobsen (Intermoto Ponyexpres Kawasaki) has scored his maiden World Supersport podium finish two days ago at Misano, crossing the line a lonely third behind winner Jules Cluzel (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) and Michael van der Mark (Pata Honda World Supersport). The young American rider made the most of the track time available during the weekend to learn the new track, managing to edge out in the race the likes of three time WSS Champion Kenan Sofuoglu (Mahi Racing Team India Kawasaki).

“It was a really hard fight for the whole race” Jacobsen commented. “Kenan (Sofuoglu) made a couple of mistakes at the beginning at let me get away. I was trying to close in for the lead but I was not sure if the gap was getting smaller, but in the end it wasn’t enough. When Michael (van der Mark) came past me he was just a little bit faster, so I just tried to manage third and keep Sofuoglu at distance. We improved every single time out and it was a new track for me. I would like to come back here next year, it would be great.”
