The current leader of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship Sylvain Guintoli (Aprilia Racing Team) told the Italian website Moto.it about his start of the season, admitting to be surprised of his physical conditions and consequently of the results achieved at Phillip Island.

The experienced French rider also took a shot at Laverty and Suzuki, as he said: "Laverty and Suzuki were really fast, but I'm curious to see how they will perform at Aragon and Assen. Checa was fast at Phillip Island as well last year, but then for Ducati it was a nightmare season."

"One thing is for sure" concluded Guintoli "I can count on a bike that is competitive for the whole season.
