The Italian rider is now looking forward to the next round.

The Pedercini Racing Team Kawasaki had its first taste of the EVO class last weekend at Phillip Island, as the eni FIM Superbike World Championhip got on track for the first round of the 2014 season.

With Luca Scassa out of contention after the pelvis injury suffered in day 2 of official testing earlier in the week, Alessandro Andreozzi made an encouraging debut in the Championship by fighting for a place in the top-15 in both races, after qualifying in 18th place at the end of Superpole 1.

Following a good start of the first race, Andreozzi was 15th at the end of the opening lap but ended up crashing during the 14th tour. The second race saw Andreozzi running off-track and finishing with the 17th place.

Alessandro Andreozzi : “I was doing quite well in the first race before I fell at turn 12. In race 2 I got a good start and I was chasing the quickest of the Evo riders, but I made a mistake and ran wide. I tried to narrow the gap as much as I could, but the heat and the fatigue did not help. Overall it was a good weekend, I was able to gather some valuable experience and data for the next event."
