Laverty emerges in the wet

Wet conditions also greeted the riders in the first Supersport session of the day. Quickest time was set by Irishman Eugene Laverty in 1 minute 59.045 seconds on the Parkalgar Honda machine. Last year's runner-up was ahead of Britain's Chaz Davies and the an impressive Michele Pirro. The session was briefly red-flagged after a crash involving Frenchman Bastien Chesaux who was unhurt. The final 12 minutes of the session concluded without problems.
