Can Razgatlioglu find success when he switches to MotoGP?
Former MotoGP commentator Nick Harris takes a look at some of the other WorldSBK stars who tried their hand in MotoGP
The 2025 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship title fight between Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) and Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) is still raging, but anticipation is already building for the #1’s switch to MotoGP for 2026. Razgatlioglu has signed a two-year contract to race for Prima Pramac Racing, and former MotoGP commentator Nick Harris has examined whether ‘El Turco’ could find success in the Grand Prix paddock.
On his motogp.com blog, Harris looks at other riders who moved from WorldSBK – including the likes of Ben Spies, Neil Hodgson, Colin Edwards, James Toseland and more – and discusses whether their success could be repeated or even bettered by Razgatlioglu when he moves to the Grand Prix paddock next year, with at least two WorldSBK titles to his name and potentially a third. Check out Harris’s full thoughts on his blog using the link at the start of this paragraph.
