Joan Lascorz update - Saturday 27 April
Following the accident at Imola during the official practice of the Superbike World Championship last April 2, the Kawasaki Racing Team have issued the following update.
Joan, by showing improvements in his physical condition and especially in terms of his respiratory system, has been transferred from the ICU to the Spinal Cord Injury Unit, University Hospital Vall d'Hebron. The Spaniard is fully awake and aware, artificial respiration assistance has been removed and Joan can speak without any problems.
It is expected that if Joan is progressing well enough in the coming days he will be transferred to the Institute Guttmann for a quick start to his recovery process.
Joan, his family and the team again want to offer thanks for all the support and care they are receiving and especially to recognize the hard work being done by the many doctors, nurses and health professionals who are working on his recovery.
