Two-day Superbike test begins at Misano
Two days of World Superbike and World Supersport testing are taking place today and tomorrow at the Misano Adriatico circuit on Italy's Adriatic Riviera, as the teams put in their final preparation work before next week's round 11 at Imola. All the riders will be getting to grips with the new tyres Pirelli have prepared for the final phase of the championship.

Most of the Superbike top teams will be there, although a couple are only represented by their test squads and riders. With the absence of Max Biaggi due to his injured foot, Aprilia will be out on track with Alex Hoffman. BMW Motorrad will also be there with test-rider Steve Martin, while BMW Italia will have Ayrton Badovini on hand together with Moto2 champion Toni Elias to try out the bike.

Points leader Carlos Checa is representing Althea Racing Ducati, with Jonathan Rea present for Castrol Honda, while Yamaha are at full strength with Marco Melandri and Eugene Laverty. Another team at full strength will be Kawasaki Racing Team, with Nurburgring winner Tom Sykes, Joan Lascorz and the returning Chris Vermeulen.

The Supersport teams will include Hannspree Honda Ten Kate, Kawasaki Motocard.com and Kawasaki Lorenzini by Leoni.
