MMP post-race statistics
WorldSBK.com takes a quick look at the facts & figures that emerged from the fifth round of the FIM Superbike World Championship at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah.

• Carlos Checa in the beginning of this season has already scored more wins than the rest of his previous three-year career, six to five. He is the 22nd rider in history to reach the goal of ten wins, ending up at eleven after the Miller races. Checa has already scored eight podiums this year out of ten races;

• At Miller Checa scored pole, double win and two fastest laps, like in 2008. A similar performance has been recorded only twenty times in Superbike history. The previous one before Carlos was Cal Crutchlow last year at Silverstone;

• Miller confirms its status as a one-way track: in all cases the winner scored the double and three times out of four scored also pole and both fastest laps. The only time this feat wasn't accomplished was last year due to a double mechanical failure by Checa;

• Max Biaggi is experiencing a very different start of the season to last year: his win drought has now reached ten races; during this time-span he has scored five seconds and a third. Last year after ten races Max had scored four wins. In race one Max retired in a first-lap accident for the first time since Portimao 2008, when he was hit by Michel Fabrizio. Excluding the black flag in Donington, it's the first retirement for Biaggi in 54 races where he has always classified (since Monza 2009);

• Leon Camier equalled his best career race result, second in race two, scored one year ago at the same track. The same applies for Jakub Smrz, second in race one (like at Donington race one this year);

• Tom Sykes with a sixth in race one obtained his best result since last year's Imola races when he was sixth and fourth;

• Maiden front row for Marco Melandri, third on the grid;

• Maiden podium for Sylvain Guintoli, third in race one;

• For the first time this season, Ayrton Badovini was the best classified rider for BMW in race one. For the first time in his career he is running a streak of three races in the top-10;

• in race one only Ducati bikes made up the podium: the last time this happened was at last year's Imola round, race one;

• On the other hand in race one no Honda bikes finished in the points for the first time in 162 races: Honda has scored points since the 2005 Qatar round.
