Chantra declared fit for the Hungarian Round
The Thai rider crashed in FP3 at Assen and missed the Dutch Round but will be back in action at Balaton Park
Somkiat Chantra (Honda HRC) will return to MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship action at the Motul Hungarian Round after he was declared fit. The Thai rider crashed at the TT Circuit Assen in FP3 during the last round and was declared unfit with a hematoma and bruising to his lower back and thighs after a heavy fall at Turn 5. He missed the racing action in the Netherlands but will be back on the CBR1000RR-R machine in Hungary at the Balaton Park Circuit after he was declared fit following a pre-round medical check.
Chantra has had a troubled start to his WorldSBK career with injuries disrupting his adaptation. A training crash at Sepang at the end of 2025 meant he needed surgery on both forearms, which forced him out of the season-opening Australia Round. He made his WorldSBK debut at Portimao in Round 2, scoring points in Race 2 with P15. He missed the races at Assen after his crash but will aim to score points again in Hungary – although he did not race there last year in MotoGP due to injury.
