As the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship returned to Automotodrom Brno for the first time since 2012, it was a weekend to remember. With ecstasy and agony for Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK), the paddock welcomed another debut winner and some stunning action.

In humid conditions, Race One saw Jonathan Rea make history as he won his 60th and ultimately record breaking WorldSBK race in dominant style, but Race Two was a different story. Starting from the third row of the grid, Rea was trapped in the mid-pack and came together with his team-mate Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK), resulting in the world champion being unable to finish the race. At the front of the pack, it was Alex Lowes’ (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team) time to shine as he secured his debut victory with skill and style.

WorldSSP saw Jules Cluzel (NRT) cement his place in the championship charge as he took another victory, whilst Galang Hendra Pratama (BIBLION YAMAHA MOTOXRACING) was able to take Yamaha’s first win of the season in WorldSSP300. Whilst rain began to fall for the STK1000 race and Maximilian Schieb (Aprilia Racing Team) took his first win of the season.
