It was alright for Reiterberger in Misano

German rider continues domination in STK100 class

Markus Reiterberger (alpha Racing-Van Zon-BMW) is certainly the man with the target on his back in the European Superstock 1000 Championship, as he has dominated once again to take his fourth win out of six.

Bouncing back from a tough weekend last time out at Brno, the German rider stamped his dominance on the series once again with pole position and then flying off into the front of the pack and never looking back. The German rider and his BMW S 1000 RR fit each other like a glove, and that was clear as he led every lap of the 4.2km circuit. Determined to bounce back and extend his championship lead – now at 14 points – it was a strong result ahead of the summer break.

Delighted to secure the perfect weekend, Reiterberger explains: “After we could not bring home the best result in Brno, we were able to secure the best setting here in Misano. The track was brutally slippery today, but that was the same for everyone. I was surprised how fast Scheib was in the race, he was even slower in practice and qualifying – and he put me under pressure. Pole record, pole position, new track record and victory in the race – that’s all there is to it. My team has provided me with the optimal bike again and look forward to Portimao and Le Mans.”
