Toni Elias (Red Devils Roma Aprilia) was aiming for the podium in the US Round’s two races at Mazda Raceway Laguna. The Spaniard got away with two fifth places but he was surely expecting more, considering the speed shown in the second race before the first red flag came out.

“We’ve had some difficulties on Friday but on Saturday we made some important steps forward that allowed us to get a good position on the grid. We started the race really well and I managed to hold on to fourth place until the first red flag came out. At the restart I did not have the same grip and it was impossible for me to be quick. Unfortunately it happened the same thing in the third race. It was a shame because we could have been in the battle for the podium.”
