Kenan Sofuoglu: "2015 will be my year"

The Turk is looking forward to the upcoming season.

Three time World Supersport Champion Kenan Sofuoglu has had a far from easy 2014 season in the Supersport World Championship, given the budget difficulties endured by the Mahi Racing Team India. The situation worsened halfway through the year resulting in the team’s withdraw from the series. As Sofuoglu found himself without a ride, Kawasaki helped the Turk by placing him in the San Carlo Puccetti Racing Team for the remaining three races of the year.

Sofuoglu and the Italian squad had a short but good last part of the year together and that led to the decision to continue the same way in 2015, with the Puccetti Team becoming the new factory effort for the Japanese manufacturer in the Supersport World Championship. With the plans for next year already sorted out and a two day test taking place next Monday and Tuesday at Alcaniz’s Motorland Aragon, Sofuoglu is really confident on his chances to do well in the upcoming racing season.

“I’m staying with Kawasaki because, despite the difficult year with the Mahi Racing Team India, they still support me and immediately arranged a bike for me. Racing with the Puccetti team was like a test for us, but they did a great job so I decided to stay with both the team and the manufacturer. I think 2015 will be a great year for us and we will do our first test very soon. I’m so hungry for wins and for another title.”
