STATE OF PLAY: What is the latest in WorldSSP’s Riders’, Manufacturers’ and Teams’ Championships?

With more than half of the 2026 campaign in the books, check out how the various WorldSSP title races are shaping up

Seven rounds into the FIM Supersport World Championship and the various title battles are shaping up. The Riders’ Championship has featured a fierce fight with five different winners and 12 different riders on the rostrum. That also leads to incredible twists and turns in the Manufacturers’ and Teams’ Championship battles as the season heats up.

ARENAS WITH MORE THAN A ROUND IN HAND

Albert Arenas (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) has had a storming start to his WorldSSP career with 11 podiums, including three wins, from 14 races. His consistency has given him a 56-point lead over Valentin Debise (EASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory), despite the French rider claiming more victories, after seven rounds. Of course, WorldSSP is super competitive in 2026, so expect more twists and turns to come – despite Arenas having more than a round’s worth of points in hand over his nearest rival. Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing VerdNatura) sits third while Can Oncu (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) is fourth; they are 72 and 92 points behind Arenas respectively. In the WorldSSP Challenge, Corentin Perolari (Honda Racing World Supersport) leads the way with 17 points.

MANUFACTURERS’ CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS

In the fight for the Manufacturers’ Championship, Yamaha currently enjoy a 27-point lead over Ducati after seven rounds and 14 races. The Japanese brand have accumulated 280 points so far in 2026, while Ducati sit on 253. ZXMOTO are having an incredible rookie campaign, with six victories so far, all thanks to Debise. However, inconsistency, perhaps to be expected given the new project, has plagued them a bit. They sit third on 197 points. Seven out of eight manufacturers have scored points this season.

TEAMS’ TITLE BATTLE

Arenas’ consistency and Aldi Mahendra (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) putting in impressive performances have helped the AS BLU CRU Racing Team to a healthy 124-point lead over EASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory, with the title leaders on 346 points. Orelac Racing VerdNatura are third in the standings with Jaume Masia showing race-winning pace and Joshua Whatley starting to emerge as a consistent points scorer in his rookie campaign. The team are on 205 points, 17 behind the Evan Bros ZXMOTO squad and 141 behind the AS BLU CRU Racing Team outfit.
