Thai rider Somkiat Chantra will make his WorldSBK debut in 2026 after one year in MotoGP where he scored points for Honda. Chantra won the 2016 Asia Talent Cup and two races in Moto2 on his way to MotoGP, and will be aiming for success with Honda in 2026.

Chantra’s first season in WorldSBK will come with the factory Honda team alongside Jake Dixon as the Japanese manufacturer renews their efforts for 2026.

Before WorldSBK

Chantra spent one season in MotoGP in 2025 where he scored a handful of points, which came after six years in Moto2. He was often a frontrunner in the intermediate category as he claimed two victories – in Thailand in 2022 and Japan in 2023 – and he also his six rostrums to his name. Before that, he competed in what was then the FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship in 2017 and 2018, finishing ninth in the latter. He also won the Asia Talent Cup in 2016.
