Mattia Rato made his WorldSBK debut in 2026 after coming through the ranks in the Italian championship. His first taste of the Yamaha R1 came at Jerez immediately after the final round at Jerez, alongside Bahattin Sofuoglu.

Yamaha (2026-)

Rato’s first experience with WorldSBK will come with the Independent Motoxracing Yamaha squad, alongside Sofuoglu.

Before WorldSBK

Rato has World Championship experience having raced two times in Moto2 in 2022, while he also raced in the Moto2 European Championship between 2020 and 2023, finishing fourth in his final season. Most recently, he competed in Italian Supersport, finishing third in the standings.
