The Australian Josh Brookes isn’t exactly a new face in the World Superbike championship after having ridden in 2006 for Bertocchi Kawasaki and in 2007 for Alto Evolution Honda. His biggest success in the WorldSBK paddock came in 2008 when he finished third in the WorldSSP championship with Stiggy Honda, behind Andrew Pitt and Jonathan Rea.
Brookes, the reigning British Superbike (BSB) champion, returns to the WorldSBK paddock in 2016 as part of the new Milwaukee BMW team with whom he claimed his 2015 BSB crown. Alongside ex-MotoGP™ star Karel Abraham, the well-experienced Australian takes on the task of getting the Shaun Muir Racing team’s Milwaukee Power Tools sponsored WorldSBK project off to a good start on board the BMW S 1000 RR. The team counts on the support and expertise of BMW Motorrad Motorsport, who will work closely with both of their factory-supported teams in 2016.
