BahattinSofuoglu

Up and coming Turkish star Bahattin Sofuoglu made a small bit of history in 2025 as he became the second rider to compete in WorldSSP300, WorldSSP and WorldSBK. After two full seasons in WorldSSP300 and then three in WorldSSP, the nephew of five-time World Supersport Champion Kenan Sofuoglu made his debut in 2025 and returns for a second campaign in 2026.

Yamaha (2025-)

Sofuoglu made his WorldSBK debut as he links up with the Motoxracing Yamaha team for 2025 as part of an expanded two-rider line-up. Although testing wasn’t easy for the #99, including a crash which left him with a suspected shoulder injury, the Turkish hotshot showed glimpses of potential. He was a regular points scorer in his maiden season and will be hoping to consistently break into the top ten in 2026.

Sofuoglu made his WorldSSP debut in 2022 on the MV Agusta machine and he remained there for three seasons, taking his first podiums and win in 2023 with his victory coming in Race 2 in Barcelona. In total, he took four rostrums in this three seasons with the team before he ended the 2024 season onboard the Yamaha R6 ahead of his move to WorldSBK.

WorldSSP300

Sofuoglu made four WorldSSP300 appearances across 2018 and 2019 before securing a full-time ride in 2020 where he was immediately competitive. Third in the standings with two wins and four podiums, he repeated those numbers in 2021 although fell to sixth in the Championship. Despite that, he’d earned a move to WorldSSP for 2023.
