Salvador strikes first at Most for his first World Sportbike pole while Buis and Fleerackers miss the top ten
Less than two-tenths separated the top four as they set the grid for Saturday at Most
David Salvador led the FIM Sportbike World Championship back onto the tarmac in their first race weekend since Assen, the Spaniard claiming his First Tissot Superpole pole position of their debut season at the Autodrom Most’s Czech Round. Matteo Vannucci (Revo-M2) took P2 for his second front row start, and Loris Veneman (MTM Kawasaki) rounded out the last of the podium places for his second front row of the season.
SALVADOR SAILS AHEAD
Championship leader David Salvador was in a bidding war for pole position near the top of the timesheet all session long, and he stuck the landing for his first pole of the season with a formidable 1’39.473s time. Matteo Vannucci (Revo-M2) piloted his Aprilia RS 660 Factory with precision, but it wasn’t enough to take pole, as he finished with a 1’39.558s, less than a tenth of a second slower than Salvador. Loris Veneman (MTM Kawasaki) posted strong times all session and was rewarded with a front row spot in P3 just over a tenth out from P1.
SEABRIGHT SEES HIMSELF TO P4
Fenton Seabright (PHR Performance Triumph) continued his upwards Superpole session form, from P9 at Portimao, P7 at Assen, to now P4 at Most, thanks to a 1’39.626s time. Antonio Torres (Team ProDina Kawasaki XCI) followed the Englishman onto the second row for P5, ahead of Dutch rider Kas Beekmans (VLR Racing Team Suzuki), finishing as the top Suzuki with a time of 1’39.857s.
ARTIGAS MAKES IT FOUR KAWASAKIS IN THE TOP 10
Xavi Artigas (MTM Kawasaki) will lead the third row from P7, his time two tenths off the Dutch rider ahead of him. Harrison Dessoy (PHR Performance Triumph) made it two Triumph bikes in the top eight with his 1’40.205s effort. Rounding out the top ten, a 1’40.340s time sent Benat Fernandez (Kove Racing Team 109) to P10, where he will lead the fourth row into Race 1 just ahead of current P2 in the Riders’ Championship, Jeffrey Buis (Track & Trades Wixx Racing) in P11, and current P3 Ferre Fleerackers (Track & Trades Wixx Racing) farther back in P14.
