STATS ROUND-UP: Bulega matches Biaggi as Razgatlioglu equals his own winning streak
The #11 reached Biaggi’s record for wins in a season by an Italian rider during the Aragon Round, while the #1’s win streak came to an end at 13
There were plenty of milestones reached throughout the Tissot Aragon Round as the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship took on the iconic MotorLand Aragon. Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) made it 13 wins in a row before his run was abruptly halted by Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati), who matched the record of an Italian legend. 250 – Razgatlioglu started his 250th WorldSBK race in Race 1. He’s tenth in the all-time list; he’ll remain there at the end of this season, as he’s 16 behind Chaz Davies in ninth.
198 – Ducati are closing in on a milestone, having recorded their 198th WorldSBK pole position.
122 – Bautista took his 122nd WorldSBK podium in Race 2. He’s fourth in the all-time list, eight behind Troy Corser.
110 – Razgatlioglu’s second place in Race 2 was BMW’s 110th podium placement. ‘El Turco’ has achieved 53 of these; it was also their 100th race on the podium.
65 – Razgatlioglu has now recorded 65 fastest laps in WorldSBK. He’s 39 behind Jonathan Rea, who famously runs the #65.
51 – BMW now have 51 wins in WorldSBK. Their next target is Aprilia, who have 52.
50 – Bulega recorded his 50th WorldSBK podium in Race 2, in just 66 races.
37 – Razgatlioglu has 37 wins for BMW, in 60 races for the German brand. It’s the same number he managed for Yamaha in 131 races.
25 – Alex Lowes claimed his 25th front row start in his WorldSBK career.
21 – The reigning Champion is on a run of 21 consecutive podiums, his personal best streak. The all-time record is held by Colin Edwards, with 25.
16 – Bulega’s Race 2 victory was his 16th in WorldSBK, putting him level with Giancarlo Falappa, Neil Hodgson and James Toseland. At Bulega’s age on Sunday (25 years, 11 months, 12 days), only one rider in WorldSBK history had more wins: Razgatlioglu (26 wins).
13 – Razgatlioglu equalled his all-time winning streak with 13 victories in a row after Race 1 at Aragon. Nicolo Bulega's P1 in the Superpole Race ended the run.
10 – Bulega claimed his 10th win of the season in Race 2, going level with Max Biaggi for wins in a season by an Italian rider.
1-2 – Both Razgatlioglu and Bulega took their first win at Aragon, with ‘Bulegas’ making it two victories on Sunday.
