FORM GUIDE: Can Razgatlioglu or Ducati continue their record-breaking streaks?
Aragon is upon us so it’s time to take a look at some of the big numbers heading into Round 10 of an enthralling 2025 campaign
The MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship is heading into the final stages of the 2025 season and it’s been an unmissable duel between Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) and Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) so far. Things are hotting up with three rounds to go so, before Round 10 at MotorLand Aragon kicks off, let’s take a look at some stats, facts and milestones potentially heading into the record books.
250 – The next race that Razgatlioglu starts will be his 250th in WorldSBK.
123 – 123 races have been run on Spanish soil so far. The presence of Spain in the WorldSBK Championship began at Jerez in 1990 on the 18th March, the opening round of that season.
87 – After the Magny-Cours weekend, Razgatlioglu has the highest podium percentage for a manufacturer ever recorded in WorldSBK. His value of 87.7% (50 out of 57) surpasses the 87.5% of Kevin Magee, with the latter climbing 7 times on the podium in just 8 races run for Yamaha. Among the riders with at least 50 starts for a manufacturer, his best rival is Jonathan Rea at 80.9% for Kawasaki (221 out of 273).
44 – In 2011, Aragon became the 5th Spanish track in WorldSBK history and the 44th overall.
37 - Aragon, with 37 races since 2011, is the Spanish track with most races held, ahead of Jerez (26).
36/37 – Razgatlioglu has posted 36 wins in 57 races for BMW, just one short of his Yamaha tally in 131 races. He is the most successful rider for both these manufacturers.
31 – The last 31 races run here were won by only two manufacturers: Ducati (20 times) and Kawasaki (11). The string started in 2014: before that year, they hadn’t posted a single win at Aragon; now, they are the two most successful constructors here.
30/63 – In his first 63 WorldSBK races, Bulega has recorded 30 second places. His 15 second places this year, and the 15 last year, however, are still distant from the season record of Razgatlioglu; that in 2023 was 20 times second, 18 behind Alvaro Bautista.
28 – From the second 2013 race until 2023 Superpole Race, at least one Kawasaki rider climbed on the podium in each of the 28 races run there.
26 - With 26 Aragon podiums, Rea in 2023 set the record for podiums at a given track, surpassing his tally of 25 he posted at Assen (now he has 25 podiums also at Portimao).
25-1 - Rea missed out on a podium just once when running for Kawasaki at Aragon: an incredible string of 25 started with a win in 2015, Race 1 and ended in 2023 (4th in Race 2). This is an absolute record streak for a given track in WorldSBK history. His nearest rival is Carl Fogarty, with 15 straight podiums at Assen (1992-1999).
23 – The 23rd of February is the only race day of this season without Toprak Razgatlioglu scoring points. Since then, when the Championship headed to Europe, he scored 449 points to Bulega’s 368.
20 – Ducati are the most successful manufacturer at Aragon with 20 wins to Kawasaki’s 11.
18/20 –Razgatlioglu is running his second-best podium streak: 18 races (since Cremona, only winner or second). He is two shy of his best streak, scored from Mandalika/1 to Most/SPR in 2023. If he reaches 21, he will tie the 3rd best streak, posted by Rea from Lusail 2014/2 to Sepang 2015/2. The all-time record streak belongs to Colin Edwards: on the podium in all the 25 races of the 2002 season.
12/13 – Toprak Razgatlioglu is just one win short of the all-time record streak of 13, set by himself last year from Assen Race 2 to Portimao Race 2. These two streaks alone, for a total of 25, would put him in 12th in the all-time spot for wins, behind Doug Polen (27 career wins).
18x2 – Razgatlioglu’s only chance to equal the season record of 27 wins by Alvaro Bautista in 2023 is to win all the remaining races of this season. He already set a record though: he is the only rider with two seasons of at least 18 wins (2024 and 2025).
10 – The lowest starting spot for a win here is 10th: Chaz Davies in Race 2, 2017.
9-9 – Jonathan Rea and Alvaro Bautista share the record for most wins at Aragon, 9 each.
8 – Ducati is on the best winning streak at Aragon: they have won the last 8 races run here.
5 – At Aragon, Razgatlioglu has the chance to improve on his all-time streak of 4 triple wins; his current one, and the one posted last year from Misano to Algarve.
4-4 – Tom Sykes and Rea are tied for the record of pole positions at Aragon: 4 each.
3 – Only three countries have won here: Great Britain (21 wins), Italy (7) and Spain (9, all by Bautista).
1 – Aragon is the track that gave Michael Rinaldi (Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team) a first win (2020, Teruel) and a first start in 2018.
0 – The first two riders on the Championship standings, Razgatlioglu and Bulega, never won here in WorldSBK. This year, they amassed 26 wins out of 27, leaving only Race 2 at Assen to Andrea Locatelli (Pata Maxus Yamaha).
