FIM Yamaha R3 BLU CRU World Cup returns for Misano sizzler
The FIM Yamaha R3 BLU CRU World Cup returns this weekend on the Adriatic Coast as Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” hosts Round 2 of the 2025 season
The USA’s Chris Clark sits atop of the championship standings after becoming the first North American rider to win a race in the series in the opening round at Portimao back in March, taking victory in Race 1 and following up with a strong third place in the second outing.
Mario Salles (Brazil) won the second race in Portimao, as well as taking pole position, and sits second in the championship ahead of this weekend’s second round.
Misano presents a whole new challenge for the grid, with temperatures set to approach 30 degrees Celsius this weekend. Local hero Alessandro di Persio, who stood on the podium in last year’s Misano event, will be looking to get his championship attack back on track after a DNF followed his first podium of the season in Portimao.
Other home contenders include Marco Truoiolo, who sits seventh in the championship standings after the opening round, Emanuele Pastore, Salvatore Germano, and Angelo Mottola.
Sitting third in the standings after round one, Teppei Kugawa (Japan) will be looking to maintain his strong form, while Arai Agaska (Indonesia), who led both races in Portugal, will also be looking to make his mark.
The weekend’s action gets underway with Free Practice at 09:00 (Local Time, UTC+2) on Friday, ahead of the Superpole session at 13:15. Race 1 takes place at 10:15 on Saturday with lights out for the second encounter at 10:05 on Sunday. Both races will be streamed live on the Yamaha Racing YouTube channel here.
