The Brazilian rookie took part in the Superpole Race after suffering from illness, but will miss out on Race 2

Eric Granado (PETRONAS MIE Racing HONDA Team) will not take part in the remaining action at the Motul Indonesian Round in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit. Granado had been ruled out of Saturday’s action through illness but was reassessed on Sunday morning and declared fit for Warm Up and the Tissot Superpole Race. Following on from the Superpole Race, Granado was assessed again and declared unfit for Race 2 with gastroenteritis symptoms.

The Honda rider had been suffering with an acute gastroenteritis diagnosis, allowing him to rest and try and compete on Sunday. Granado had been scheduled to race for the first time on Saturday at Mandalika as he continues in his rookie WorldSBK season. He qualified originally in 20th place, less than three tenths from teammate Hafizh Syahrin and 2.903s from the pole time. In the Superpole Race, Granado was 19th and the last classified rider.
