As the teams and riders from the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship have some downtime following the incredible WorldSBK campaign, it’s time to take a trip down memory lane and look at some of the key moments from the season. A return to France is where this one starts as Race 2 provided yet another dramatic twist in the title fight. Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) and Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) were fighting in the early stages of the race when the pair made contact: Bautista went tumbling through the gravel and out of the race while Rea was given a Long Lap Penalty for irresponsible riding.
