After an electric Race 1, the 2021 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship has seen records broken on the second day of the Motul French Round at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours. An emblematic venue, it was yet another title fight with Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha with Brixx WorldSBK) and Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK), records have been broken and history made throughout Race 1 and Tissot Superpole, so what else can we expect to happen on Sunday? It’s time to glance back at the records on Saturday, and look ahead at what’s on the horizon for Sunday.

1. Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha with Brixx WorldSBK) took a seventh win of the season and 18^th podium, meaning he is the first Yamaha rider to achieve 18 podiums in one year. This is the first time Yamaha have won at Magny-Cours since 2010;
    
2. Razgatlioglu and teammate Andrea Locatelli on the podium means that it’s the first in WorldSBK history that Yamaha take 11 straight podiums, giving them 340 podium places.
    
3. A win for Yamaha in WorldSBK tomorrow would be the 90^th in their history in the Championship.
    
4. Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) comes home in second, meaning it is the 35^th time that Razgatlioglu and Rea share a podium.
    
5. The 18^th top five result in WorldSBK for Michael Ruben Rinaldi, the fifth time he’s been top Ducati in a race in 2021 – until Magny-Cours Race 1, teammate Scott Redding was always the next-best Ducati.
    
6. Michael van der Mark (BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) took a seventh top-five result of 2021, his first since Assen Race 1 – it was the first time since Race 2 at Most that he’s been the top BMW.
    
7. Jonathan Rea’s pole at Magny-Cours is his eighth of the 2021 WorldSBK season – a new record in the history of the Championship with the previous best being set by him and Ben Spies, in 2009.
    
8. Rea’s pole is also Kawasaki’s 100^th pole in WorldSBK, only the second manufacturer to do this after Ducati, who are on 182.
    
9. In WorldSSP, Luca Bernardi (CM Racing) took his first ever World Supersport pole position, which is the first ever for San Marino. San Marino therefore becomes the 16^th country to have a WorldSSP pole.
    
10. 100 is a theme for Kawasaki on Saturday, with Adrian Huertas (MTM Kawasaki), Tom Booth-Amos (Fusport – RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki) and Samuel Di Sora (Leader Team Flembbo) making it 100 podium placements for the manufacturer in WorldSSP300, the first manufacturer to reach this milestone in the class’ history.
