Rinaldi leads Ducati 1-2 at Misano in WorldSBK Warm Up

Race 1 winner Michael Ruben Rinaldi continued where he left Saturday by topping the Warm Up session by more than a second

Sunday’s action at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” for the Pirelli Made in Italy Emilia-Romagna Round with Race 1 winner Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) topping the 15-minute session by over half a second ahead of Sunday’s two MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship races.

Rinaldi was untouchable in the 15-minute session to kickstart the day’s action with a lap time of 1’33.774s, seven tenths clear of teammate Scott Redding as the British rider looks to make the step onto the podium in his team’s home race, with Turkish star Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha with BRIXX WorldSBK) in third place.

Reigning Champion Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) finished in fourth place, one second off Rinaldi’s time, with teammate Alex Lowes around 0.020s behind Rea. American Garrett Gerloff (GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team); the American will need to battle his way back through the grid in the Tissot Superpole Race.

Leon Haslam (Team HRC) was seventh ahead of Michael van der Mark (BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) and Chaz Davies (Team GoEleven) with Tom Sykes (BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) completing the top ten.
