Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Team GOELEVEN) is ready for a new challenge in 2020 and after a promising start in Australia, the Italian star aims to showcase his best talents and qualities when racing gets back underway. We caught up with him to talk about the first round and why he focuses more on last year’s factory rider Alvaro Bautista and not so much on the 2020 line-up of Scott Redding and Chaz Davies.

Having shone at the first round of the season, Rinaldi stated his first feelings with the team: The team is awesome, we work in a really good way. Unfortunately, in Australia during Race 2, we were right there and had pace for the top five, but Leon Haslam had a problem with his bike and touched me, so we crashed. We know our potential is big; I have a good bike and a good team, so this is a good opportunity to achieve the best that I can.”

“Fortunately, I can see the factory bikes data; it is not our main point because we do things in our own way, but it is a good reference for when you struggle. When I need something, I look at the data from Alvaro Bautista last year, because he is more like me and we use more or less the same bike, as we are similar. I don’t really look at the others because their bikes are different to ours. Also, Scott Redding weighs 20kg more than me, Chaz Davies weighs 15kg more, so it is not the same thing.”
