Long-standing WorldSSP team to rebrand as Dynavolt Honda for next season

The FIM Supersport World Championship continues to expand in both quantity and quality, not only in terms of the riders competing for the coveted middleweight title but also the associations it brings to the paddock. The latest announcement regarding the 2020 season comes from PTR Honda, who have sealed a new title partner agreement with Dynavolt Tech.

The Chinese battery company, who have sponsored the race-winning Intact GP team in Moto2™ since 2013, will enter the WorldSBK paddock for the first time in 2020, after signing an agreement with the WorldSSP team for next year and beyond.

With this agreement, PTR Honda will rebrand for next season as Dynavolt Honda. The team has already announced both of its riders for 2020: Hikari Okubo and Patrick Hobelsberger.

Team Manager Simon Buckmaster said of the agreement: “I want to say how excited I am to start this partnership with Dynavolt Tech and we look forward to being very successful in 2020 and hopefully for many years to come.  I would like to thank Leonard Chen and Dynavolt Tech for giving us this opportunity and we look forward to a really successful association together. I would also like to thank James Nay of Devil Evolution Exhausts for helping to make this happen.”

Leonard Chen, Chairman of Dynavolt Tech, argued along similar lines: “It is a pleasure that we are extending our sponsorship to WorldSBK.  I believe that with this new partnership more people will know about Dynavolt Tech, it is the best battery you can use in the powersport business!   We are looking forward to a good and long partnership with Simon and I hope that together we can succeed.”
