Dutchman ready to take on full season in 2019

Following some impressive performances in the FIM Supersport World Championship last season, Glenn van Straalen will be taking on 2019 with the EAB Racing Team as he secures a full time ride in the class.

It was a big year for the Dutch rider, as he completed the full season in the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship and ended in ninth overall, with a handful of top ten finishes and including a podium at his home round at TT Circuit Assen. He was then offered the opportunity to take on the ZX-6R in the WorldSSP class with the EAB Racing Team in Argentina and Qatar where he put on some strong performances despite being unable to score any points.

Continuing to learn and develop his riding skills the 18 year old is looking forward to a new challenge with his full-time team for 2019.

“It is really fantastic that I will be able to ride a full World Supersport season,” begins van Straalen. “To be honest, I’m speechless about it. During my first two events for the EAB Racing Team it went very well, but unfortunately I scored two DNF’s in both races. The contact with the team was very good, however and I’m sure much better results are possible next year. I can’t wait to test the bike this winter to be prepared in the best way for the first race of 2019 at Phillip Island. I would like to thank all of my sponsors. And certainly also Arie Vos, my previous team manager, for his support during 2018.”

Keep up with all van Straalen’s progress throughout the new season, as well as any winter testing all with the WorldSBK VideoPass.
