Kawasaki Puccetti Racing rider clear at the top in first session

WorldSSP rookie Randy Krummenacher went fastest in the first practice session at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, with the Swiss rider setting a stunning pace over half a second clear of closest challenger Gino Rea. Reigning Champion Kenan Sofuoglu was third fastest, ahead of first Italian Ayrton Badovini for Team Lorini.

MV Agusta Reparto Corse rider Jules Cluzel ended FP1 in the top 5 on the track where he has taken the last two victories, finding some form again since some more difficult weekends since the team’s last home race at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola. Federico Caricasulo was P6 in FP1 with some impressive rookie pace, ahead of Honda’s title contender PJ Jacobsen in seventh.

Alex Baldolini ended the first session in P8 for more early Italian promise at Misano, showing good pace before ending FP1 slightly early with a lowside crash, ahead of first FIM Europe Supersport Cup rider Axel Bassani, impressing at home for San Carlo Team Italia. Christoffer Berman completed the top ten, ahead even more home talent in the form of Roberto Rolfo and fastest wildcard Ilario Dionisi.

FP2 gives the grid their last chance for entry into Tissot-Superpole 2 at Misano, with the second practice session beginning at 14:45 local time (GMT +2).
