Lorenzo Savadori and Alex De Angelis review their findings at the Fassi French Round

It was a good weekend for Italian rider Lorenzo Savadori as he finished the races at Magny-Cours in fifth on Saturday and in sixth place on Sunday. Savadori’s Iodaracing Team colleague Alex De Angelis was tenth in a wet-dry Race 1 and then finished 14th on Sunday in the dry.

After the #FrenchWorldSBK round the standings see Savadori in 10th place with 131 points, while De Angelis is 13th with 88 points.

Savadori said of his sixth place finish on Sunday, "We had a good race, we couldn’t do any more. Since Friday we have had a few little set-up problems, but this morning we were able to make a small step forward just in the warm up, which allowed us to make this sixth place. I think it could have been even better if we had been a little bit more prepared. Unfortunately I had a big drop in tyre performance after the first seven laps and this took my lap time up by almost a second. Then I rode safely trying to control the spinning as much as possible, because it was getting worse as I pushed. This weekend has been very positive for me, so I want to thank Iodaracing and Aprilia for a job well done.”

De Angelis gave his perspective on Sunday’s action highlighting some as yet unidentified issues with his Aprilia RSV4RF race bike, stating, “After the warm up we had already figured out that the race would be difficult and so it was. We are completely out of set up for Magny Cours. I have asked the team to check if there were any problems that we weren’t detecting, because between the warm up and the race we changed the set up of the bike, but the situation seemed to stay the same. Now the bike will be taken apart to check that there are no hidden issues. Thinking of the races to come, there will be two tracks that I know well, so I will not waste time on Friday to learn them on this bike.”
