MV Agusta rider looking to finish the season on the podium

Jules Cluzel gave a sparkling glimpse of his potential with his impressive performance at the Lausitzring bringing his MV Agusta home in third place, after struggling for much of the season. The Frenchman was thrilled to have tasted the Prosecco again, the last time being in Imola in May.

“I’m happy to be back on the podium, it felt good,” said Cluzel. “I felt good after all the bad things that have happened before. It has been a long time, because the last time I was up here was in Imola, so I’m really happy to be back on the podium. At this race we have improved, with some new parts. Yesterday we worked until midnight and we really tried hard, so we deserve it. I’m happy because this is a step forward.”

The number 16 rider maneuvered his MV Agusta masterfully through the mixed conditions at the Pirelli German Round and his efforts paid off, but it wasn’t easy. “There was one turn where I was losing a lot, but I came back in the other places,” admitted Cluzel. “We were strong but we just have to understand why that one turn was really critical. Anyway, it was a really good race, we have 16 points and I’m happy, so it’s good.”

The ex-Moto2 rider looks ahead to his home round in Magny-Cours where he hopes to continue his podium form saying, “I think we understand something we didn’t before and we have to keep this hard work up for Magny-Cours at home.”

Round 10 for WorldSSP will resume at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours at the end of September, where Jules Cluzel hopes to shine in front of a home crowd.
