Clarke excited about World Supersport comeback

The 29 year old Briton will race with the CIA Insurance Honda.

Kieran Clarke will return to top flight racing in 2015 with the CIA Landlords Insurance Honda race team in the FIM Supersport World Championship.

Kieran last raced for the PTR team in 2012, scoring points in the Monza round of WSS before narrowly missing out at his home circuit at Donington Park. A top five contender in BSB, he is pragmatic about his goals for 2015.

“Coming back to PTR feels a bit like Déjà vu but now it is CIA Landlords Insurance Honda,” said Clarke. “This was my first and only choice to return to racing, I was not prepared to compromise with competitiveness at all, I would have preferred to stay out of racing entirely. I have complete faith in the team and set up to deliver me a competitive race bike. My ambitions are to run at the front of the Championship and fight for the podium. Saying that, my realistic short-term goal is to take it one step at a time; I am under no illusion how hard it will be.

“I have raced for two decades and in the last two years I have been doing stunt work and coaching,” he added. “I have probably worked more on my riding skills in the last two years than ever as a result. I can’t wait to get racing.”

Clarke, 29, from Nottingham, spent 2014 working on a major Hollywood blockbuster movie franchise as a stuntman.
