New team boss expecting more success for Kyle Smith.

Kyle Smith will be able to carry on fighting for race victories in the 2016 FIM Supersport World Championship. That is according to new team boss Simon Buckmaster, as the former rider looks forward to working with his new recruit.

Buckmaster’s comments came as his PTR operation announced that it has renewed its title sponsorship agreement with CIA Landlord Insurance.

“I am delighted to announce that CIA Landlord Insurance will remain with PTR in 2016 and join us on our quest to win a first World Supersport Championship,” he says.

“We have finished runner-up twice and won 18 races together so far, but I think 2016 could be the best year for us yet. Kyle Smith is a huge talent and we expect, on our Honda CBR600RR, he will start the year on a familiar bike and hopefully continue winning.”

24-year-old Smith, born in Huddersfield, UK but having lived in Spain since he was eight years of age, won his first World Supersport race at the 2015 season-closer in Qatar, riding for the Pata Honda World Supersport team.
