Wahr re-joins WSS field at Misano
The German rider Kevin Wahr has to take it race by race as there is still a lack of budget.
RS Wahr by Kraus Racing rider Kevin Wahr will be back in the grid of the World Supersport at this weekend’s seventh round at Misano. The German rider had to cancel the Sepang/Malaysia race due to a lack of budget. But the team’s truck of the reigning German Supersport champion headed towards Italy yesterday.
“We are going to be at Misano”, Wahr told WorldSBK.com. “We had to sit out the overseas round and still all the other races to come are not sure for us. But we are back in the grid at Misano and are hoping for another Top Ten results there. I just need to deliver good results to get some more attention.”
And that’s exactly what the 25 year old did in his first WSS season so far. He started the year with a brilliant 6th place finish at Australia. After his DNF at Aragon he jumped into the Top Ten twice, also at the Donington Park he was on course for further points, when crashing out of the race.
“We have reached that point that was clear to us right from the beginning of the season: For all the races our budget is not going to be enough”, Wahr said. “We have to take it race by race and we have to deliver some results. We need to make sure, that all of our supporters and partners – also the new ones – are happy. Of course we want to take part in as many races as possible.”
But still there is a lack of Budget. “I need to recommend myself”, he said. “The next overseas races are doubtful and not sure at all. We just look how everything goes and what is going to happen.”
