The combined effort from MV and YMS has made history already in Phillip Island.

The partnership between the iconic brand MV Agusta and Yakhnich Motorsport was officially presented yesterday at the headquarter of the Italian manufacturer in Schiranna, near Varese. MV Agusta returned to international racing by giving factory support to last year's WSS winning team Yakhnich Motorsport.

The new MV Agusta Reparto Corse – Yakhnich Motorsport squad started the 2014 season in a strong way, with Jules Cluzel delivering a historical win in the World Supersport race at Phillip Island last month.

"We are back to international racing to win" said Giovanni Castiglioni, President and CEO of MV "not just to participate. Victory is in the DNA of the brand and thanks to the partnership with Yakhnich Motorsport we will get there quicker. It was great to see the F3 winning in Phillip Island."

Team Manager Claudio Corsetti also highlighted the important effort put in by the president of Yakhnich Motorsport: "Alexander Yakhnich invested a lot to make this happen and we are glad to have this partnership with the most famous motorcycle brand in the world."

With Cluzel and Vladimir Leonov on the WSS side, MV Agusta Reparto Corse – Yakhnich Motorsport is also taking part in the eni FIM Superbike World Championship with the full-spec MV F4 RR and Italian rider Claudio Corti.

"I knew the first year would have been hard work" noted Corti "but there are a lot of positives already in the development of the F4. We will improve race by race, and I think soon we will achieve good results."
