Elias: "We couldn’t find the right set-up"
The Spanish rider had a difficult time in Misano.
Toni Elias (Red Devils Roma Aprilia) was sixth in both races at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” but despite the good amount of points scored in the seventh round of the season, the Spaniard was not happy of his performance. The former Moto2 World Champion rode at the limit and was visibly not comfortable astride his RSV4 as he almost lost the front many times during both encounters.
“I had a perfect start in race one but I did a few mistakes at the beginning” said Toni Elias. “I had a lot of problems, the bike was pushing from the rear and I almost tucked the front at basically every corner. We ended up sixth, my pace was OK but we couldn’t stay with the front runners. We tried to improve for the second race by making the front a bit softer, but the problems got bigger. We struggled a lot in every sector, not just in the fourth split like in the first race. We struggled in finding a good set-up during the whole weekend, when we tried to find some traction I lost the feeling at the front, whilst we lost traction whilst trying to improve the overall feeling of the bike.”
