The team returns to the series with high hopes.

The 2015 FIM Superstock 1000 Cup will see the welcome return of the Atlhea Racing Team, who will field two  Ducati 1199 Panigale R for Italian riders Raffaele De Rosa and Luca Salvadori. The squad has a long and successful history in the series that culminated in winning the STK1000 in 2011 with Davide Giugliano.

Team Owner Genesio Bevilacqua explained: “Team Althea’s plan is still to become one of most important Superbike teams but at the same time we would like also to return to the Stock category where we’ve enjoyed a lot of success in the past. I believe that this is an important moment for this category, which has now a high level of visibility and can work as a showcase for riders trying to demonstrate their skills. I’m focusing on these two young men for different reasons. Luca is a very talented young rider who can surely do a great deal with the Team, growing and gaining experience, and here he will have the time to grow. Raffaele is a rider who I have always followed through his various championships and I’ve long believed in his potential. He will be able to show the best of himself, finally having a Team that will work around him and where he will have the best materials available to him, on board the Ducati Panigale R. I thank Ducati for having given us credit also in this category, where we will definitely be doing our best to achieve the best possible result, as we’ve already done in the past.”

Luca Salvadori: “I thank Genesio for the great opportunity he is giving me. I’m honoured to be able to join a World Championship-winning team that has so much experience. I can’t wait to begin, so that I can start repaying the trust they are putting in me right from the first tests. I also hope that, alongside a very experienced rider like Raffaele, I am able to learn fast and get to the top of the category as quickly as possible.”

Raffaele De Rosa: “I was at the Italian Superbike race at Mugello, working as a federal technician, when I was contacted by Genesio Bevilacqua and I was really pleased about it. I’m happy because one of my great wishes is about to become reality. After some difficult years, I have the honour at this moment in my career of joining a great Team that has already won so much in the past. I’m grateful and thank Genesio, the Althea Team and Ducati for the opportunity given to me – I will do all I can to repay their trust”.
